About Us
Founded in 2006, Association A3S is a non-profit association of Research and Development (R&D), created as a result of a collective project of individuals. Our intervention has mostly focused on the North of Portugal and has started a path of internationalisation since 2012.
Our mission is the promotion of social entrepreneurship and the development of social and solidarity economy, seeking to contribute to the consolidation of fairer, equitable, participatory, inclusive and sustainable development alternatives.
We portray ourselves as a lab for the collective construction of a social mission project, guided by principles of democracy and independence, while simultaneously promoting civic participation and qualified and qualifying work contexts.
Our work upholds the following values:
- Participatory democracy and shared responsibility of individuals and organisations;
- Transparency and accountability on social, environmental and economic impacts;
- Consistency between the intervention and the ideals of social and solidarity economy;
- Decent work in qualifying and empowering contexts;
- Critical thinking in the construction of alternatives;
